PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The Commission will consider approval of a four-item consent calendar including meeting minutes, claims, a raffle request from the Oahe Family Y-M-C-A and a new hire of a police officer. Commissioners will get an update on the Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center House of Hope and will consider a request to purchase a compactor for the landfill. The Commission will consider approval of requests for proposals for a water and wastewater study and treatment support. Commissioners will also consider two requests to bid. One is for the 2025 Slurry Seal bid and the second is for the yearly aggregate base course purchase. Second and final reading will be given to two ordinance changes. One is for a water rate ordinance update and the second for the wastewater rate ordinance update. Commissioners will end the meeting by presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
