The Stanley County Buffaloes would knock off the Kadoka Area Kougars 60-52 Saturday night in Murdo to win the 57th Annual Jones County Tournament. The first since 1997.
Stanley County dominated the first two games of the tournament and finished it with an eight point win over the Kougars to claim the tournament crown. It’s also the seventh straight win for the Buffs who are now 8-1 on the season. The Buffs were led in scoring by Paxton Deal 18, Kaden Montana had 17 and Eddie Duffy had 14. All three made the Jones County Tournament All-Tournament Team while Duffy, who had 64 points in three games was named the Tournament MVP.
Stanley County will look to continue the win streak rolling when they host the Jones County Coyotes on Tuesday in a girls and boys doubleheader. The girls will tip off around 6:15.
