Capitals Offense Shutdown in Loss to Aberdeen

The Oahe Capitals boys varsity couldn’t get the offense going in a 5-2 loss to the Aberdeen Cougars Sunday afternoon on the road.

Keegan Kitts scored the first goal of the game just 23 seconds into the first period, but it was just one of two shots on goal in the first for Oahe as they were outshot 13-2. Aberdeen went 2-3 on the power play in the first period and had four goals in the first in total as Aiden Posthumous, Devon Fischbach, Drake Witte and Jaxon Danielson all scored. Kitts picked up his second of the game midway through the third, but Trayke Roehrich finished a three point night with a goal on the power play. Jaxon Jungwirth made 22 saves as the Caps were outshot 27-13 in the loss.

Oahe is now 4-6 on the season and will have a three game road trip next weekend taking on Watertown Friday, Brookings Saturday and Brandon Valley on Sunday. All three games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
