Charger Girls Let One Slip Away, Lose on the Road

Cold shooting brought down the Sully Buttes Charger girls 58-43 Tuesday night in LaPlant against the Tiospaye Topa Thunderhawks.

The Chargers trailed 29-18 at the half, and 40-28 after three. Payge Bakker was the only player in double figures, finishing with 23 points for the 4-4 Chargers. Tiospaye Topa was led by Leilani Bowkers’ 21 points, and Pam Meeter’s 20. The Thunderhawks are now 7-1 on the season.

Sully Buttes gets back to their home court Friday night for a big region matchup against a strong Highmore Harrold team. That game will be broadcast on Country 95.3FM, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with DT Meyer on the call. Also that night, former player Elizabeth Lamb Salmonson will be inducted into the Sully Buttes Hall of Fame.
