Stanley County Travels to Selby for First 2025 Doubleheader

The Stanley County Buffaloes will be on the road to start the new year, with a girls and boys doubleheader tonight in Selby facing the Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines.

After four straight losses, the Stanley County Lady Buffs will be looking for its second win against the winless Wolverines. Herreid/Selby had two close losses to Timber Lake and Sully Buttes, but were blown out by 30 plus points by Mobridge-Pollock and Aberdeen Roncalli and are 0-4 on the season.

The Stanley County boys are 2-1 on the year after a high scoring win back on Thursday, December 19, the final game of 2024, beating Philip by 34. The Buffs offense, once it gets going, can be hard to stop. The Wolverines are 1-1 with a 47-44 win over McLaughlin, but dropped a 56-39 decision to Faulkton Area. The Wolverines haven’t scored much so Stanley County will look to jump off to a good start.

The doubleheader is set to begin around 6:30 for the girls game with the boys game to follow from Selby High School.
