Stanley County Closes 2024 with Trip to Philip for Doubleheader

The Stanley County Buffaloes will look to quickly move past the losses on Tuesday as they play for the final time in 2024 travel to Philip to face the Scotties in a doubleheader.

The Lady Buffs will look for more offense against Philip tonight after failing to reach 20 points in each of the last three games. Stanley County is 1-3 on the season while Philip is 0-2, but the Lady Scotties have scored 40 plus points in each of the two games. Philip lost to Belle Fourche 58-45 on Tuesday.

Stanley County boys will be looking for its second win after a 48-33 loss to Winner on Tuesday. The score alone doesn’t do it justice of how close the game was played throughout the night until the final minute and a half. Philip is also 1-1 with a loss on Tuesday to Lemmon 52-26. The Scotties have beaten Stanley County the last two years which included a 67-53 win in Fort Pierre last year. However, Philip graduated eight seniors from last year’s team and will have a different look heading into the game tonight.

The doubleheader is scheduled to start with the varsity girls around 6:30 Central Time and the boys game to follow at Philip High School.
