Jackley Announces New Charges In 4th Investigation Into Public Corruption By Former State Employee

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Attorney Generals Office has brought charges against another former state employee. Attorney General Marty Jackley says 55 year-old Renee Strong of Springfield was indicted Tuesday by a Hughes County Grand Jury on a number of forgery and false instrument charges…

Jackley says this particular case involves two state agencies, public health and taxpayer dollars…

Jackley says the alleged forgeries happened this year…

Strong was arrested Tuesday on a one-thousand dollar cash bond. She has not made an initial court appearance on the charges. Jackley says a whistle blower came forward to start the investigation. The Attorney General says this latest case is another reason why he’d like to see proposed anti-corruption legislation pass during the 2025 legislative session.
