PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Hughes County County Commission is meeting tonight for the Commission’s final regularly scheduled meeting of the year tonight. The Commission will approve minutes and claims then hold a public hearing a 5:30 pm as part of a Joint City/County Commission meeting for a plat and rezoning in the Maier Addition. The Joint Commission will also consider a plat in Sunset Meadows. In new business, the County Commission will hold a public hearing for a plat and rezone in the Kleinschmidt Addition. Final consideration will be given to two other plat change requests. The Commission will also consider adding two parcels on Highland Avenue to the tax rolls. Presentations will also take place with the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management and Central South Dakota Enhancement District. Commissioners will discuss the New Year’s Eve holiday, administrative time off and cost of living adjustments. Other agenda items include budget supplements, jail contracts, personnel, highway department surplus and reports. The Hughes County Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
