Capitals Girls, Boys Roll to Second Straight Wins on the Weekend

The Oahe Capitals girls and boys varsity teams would both get wins on Saturday as the girls would pick up a 6-1 win while the boys would shutout Sioux Center 8-0.

The Capital girls would fall behind 1-0 Saturday afternoon, but would score the final six goals of the game as Maci Canneigeter would score first, but Kallee Behm would tie the game at 1-1 through one. Addison Hunsley would score a short handed goal early in the second which proved to be the game winner as the Caps had two short handed goals in the game with Elliot Bertsch scoring her first of the year short handed. Brylee Kafka added another two goals in the win and Dakota McEntaffer would score as well as Kylee Fromm would make 19 saves on 20 shots for her second win in as many starts. The Caps improve to 4-1 on the season.

In the boys game, the Capitals would struggle to beat Bohdan Vinichenko in the first period as Dylan Dodson had the only goal in the first, coming short handed. However, Oahe would bust out for three goals in the second and another four in the third as Dodson would record a second hat trick of the weekend. Ayden Behm would get two goals, while Keegan Kitts and Keller Shaw would each score in the win. Jaxon Jungwirth would make 15 saves for the shutout and get his second straight win between the pipes. Oahe is now 2-3 while Sioux Center drops to 0-8.
