State Water Management Board Moves To Send Approval Meeting Minutes To Legislature For Western Dakota Rural Water System Future Water Use Application

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Water Management Board held a special meeting Wednesday to consider the Western Dakota Regional Water System. The system would pipe Missouri River water to western South Dakota, similar to what the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System has done in Southeast South Dakota. Ron Duvall with the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources says the application needs another step to move forward…

Western Dakota’s application calls for usage of 20-thousand 765 acre feet of water. The meeting Wednesday was to approve sending the meeting minutes from the December 4th meeting to the Legislature for consideration during the 2025 session.
