The Pierre Governor football team is back in a familiar place, the DakotaDome in Vermillion, as the Govs battle against the Watertown Arrows in the 11AA state championship looking for its eighth straight title.
The Governors and Arrows would meet in Pierre in week three of the season. Watertown would win 28-14 over the Govs as Pierre would drop its first of four straight. Watertown lost just once in 11AA, a double overtime game to Spearfish. In the span, the Arrows have three shutouts including another 20-7 win over Brookings in the semifinals last week. This is the first trip to the dome for Watertown since 2013 when the Governors beat the Arrows 34-7 for its first title. Watertown is searching for its first title since 2001.
