The Miller Rustlers would sweep the Lakota Tech Tatanka in Fort Pierre on Tuesday in the Class A SoDak 16 to advance to the Class A State Tournament with scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-10.
The Rustlers will go into the tournament as the number one overall seed at 28-1 and on a 23 match winning streak. Miller was balanced in the attack with Paige Werdel leading the way with 13 kills while Aleah Schlechter had 10 kills overall. Kate Litchy and Gracen Werdel had seven and six respectively. Miller had a total of 42 kills and six aces on the evening while keeping Lakota Tech to just 32 points overall on the evening. The Rustlers will meet Sioux Falls Christian in the first round of the Class A state tournament as the 12 seed Chargers would upset the five seed Baltic on Tuesday in a sweep. The first round matchup is the first game of the tournament next week Thursday from the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
