Lutmer, Jacks Run Cross Country Midwest Regionals Friday

Pierre alum Jessica Lutmer and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits will run in the Midwest Cross Country Regionals on Friday in Peoria, Illinois looking to advance to the national championships.

Lutmer and the Jacks won the Summit League Conference championship back on Saturday, November 2. Lutmer placed eighth in the conference run and it was her second second team All-Conference run of her career with the Jacks. Both the women and men’s teams will be running at the regional on Friday.

There’s a couple of different ways to qualify for the national championship run. The safest route is to be one of the top two teams in the Regional to automatically qualify. If not, there will be 13 at-large teams selected from all Regionals which will most likely be third and fourth place teams. If the team does not qualify, you must be the first four finishers not on those teams to automatically qualify while also finishing in the top 25.

You can watch the Midwest Regionals run with a subscription to ESPN+ as it is the only regional to be televised. The women run at 11:00 AM Central Time and the Jackrabbit men will run at 12:00 at the Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Illinois hosted by Bradley University.
