Governors Can’t Pull out First Set, Swept in Brookings

The Pierre Governors would drop its fourth straight match on Tuesday with a three set loss to Brookings, as the Bobcats would pick up the win with scores of 25-22, 25-14 and 25-18.

The Governors had 21 kills, but finished with 21 hitting errors as Brookings would take advantage of the mistakes along with 10 aces on the night with four by Rylee Thompson. Macy Even would have the match high 10 kills while Thompson finished with eight and Kymber Buys had seven for the 13-15 Bobcats. Pierre battled in the first set leading most of the way, but just couldn’t find a way to get the first set win and would fall in the next two. Both Campbell Cronin and Jaycee Bauer each had six kills for Pierre.

The Governors drop to 6-13 on the season and will close the season next Tuesday with a trip to Jefferson. First serve will be at 7:00.
