Two Pierre Governors finish inside the top ten at the state cross country races on Saturday at the Hart Ranch in Rapid City. Emery Larson would place fifth and Caleb Morris eighth for the Pierre Governors
Class AA
After going back-to-back in the Class B state cross country runs, Emery Larson, now at Pierre, would still be in the top five at her first AA state run as she would finish with a time of 18:49 to be the highest Governor finisher. The girls team would place fifth in the AA race with Devyn Van Roekel placing 18th and Gwen Richter placing 25th as the top three runners. On the boys side, Morris would place eighth as the highest Governor as the boys finish in 13th overall. Jayden Brandt would place 71st for the Governors.
Class A
In the Class A girls race, Kaysen Magee would place 59th for the Stanley County Buffaloes while Madeline Nye would lead the Miller Rustlers with a 67th place finish. In the boys race, Pierce Baumberger would get an All-State run finishing in 12th place while Spencer Sargent would place 83rd for the Buffaloes.
Class B
In Class B, Dannika Kaup would have an All-State run going for seventh place for the Potter County Battlers with Paige Ahlemeier finishing in 35th. Autumn Fallis was 24th for the Highmore-Harrold Pirates and BreAna Aske was 40th for the Jones County Coyotes. Brooks McPeak would lead Highmore-Harrold in the boys race with a 23rd place finish.
