Stanley County Looks for Revenge, Major Upset in 9AA Playoffs

The Stanley County Buffaloes begin the 9AA playoffs as the 16 seed and will face the top seed, undefeated Parkston in a rematch from the second game of the season.

Back on August 30, Parkston would knock off the already injury riddled Buffaloes with a 52-16 win. Parkston moved to 2-0 and eventually went 8-0 on the season with its biggest wins against 7-1 Wolsey Wessington 30-22, 6-2 Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 42-14 and 6-2 Kimball/White Lake 26-0. Stanley County dropped to 0-2 at the time and went 2-6 overall on the season with wins over Redfield and Potter County. The Trojans allowed just 12.1 points against per game, third best in 9AA. Max Foth, head coach of the Stanley County Buffaloes says one of the big things early on and throughout the game is taking care of the football…

With two teams playing in the second game of the season, Foth says it’s helpful to give a nice look on what they did against the Stanley County formations…

Foth says they have to force some turnovers tonight…

Kickoff tonight is at 7:00 from Parkston High School. The winner will face the winner of the 8/9 contest Leola/Frederick Area and Kimball/White Lake, both were opponents of the Buffaloes this season.
