The Pierre Governor football team will wrap up the regular season tonight in Box Elder as they face the winless Douglas Patriots as Pierre looks to get back over the .500 mark.
Pierre picked up a 35-15 win last Friday for its second straight win going to 4-4 and the Governors look to be back on track. Pierre beat the Spearfish Spartans to push their record to 6-2 and had moved into third place in the standings. However, Pierre will need a little help to still host a first round playoff game next week along with the win tonight. If Pierre would have to travel, the Governors will likely end up in Spearfish next Thursday for the first round of the 11AA playoffs. With this being the last game of the season and last chance for the Governors to improve, Steve Steele, head coach of the Pierre Governors says this could fall in the category of a trap game…
With the last week of the season, you want your guys to be healthy for the playoffs and Steele says you still have to handle business first…
Steele says Pierre has to win up front tonight…
Coverage begins at 6:30 Central Time with kickoff at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports. Jon Winkler and Mendel Miller will have the call.
