Governors Drop Tough Three Set Loss

The Pierre Governor volleyball team would drop a three set decision to a solid Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles squad with scores of 25-23, 25-19 and 25-21.

The Governors drop its fourth straight and go 0-3 on the week, but played some of its best volleyball through the day on Saturday, just unable to come away with a win in any of the three sets. Lauren Burckhard had the match high 14 kills to lead all scorers for the Golden Eagles. Kamdyn Borge had 11 kills for the two in double figures for Aberdeen Central. The Governors were led in scoring by Campbell Cronin who had nine kills overall. Kierra Gossman also finished with four.

The Governors drop to 5-9 while Aberdeen Central improves to 10-4. Pierre will be at home on Thursday when they host the Yankton Gazelles. Coverage will start at 6:30 with first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
