The Pierre Governor football team would get two big touchdown receptions from the returning Cooper Terwilliger and the Govs knock off the Sturgis Scoopers on the road 17-14.
Carter Templeton would score the only points of the first half as he would hit a 28 yard field goal late in the second quarter and the Governors would go into the break with a 3-0 lead. However, Sturgis had a quick four play drive and Dayln Daschaak would catch a 25 yard touchdown pass on the opening possession of the second half and Sturgis would take a 7-3 lead. The Governors answered as Kaleb Lounsbury would hit Terwilliger with a 17 yard strike to get the Governors back in front. After Sturgis would take the lead early in the fourth quarter on another Daschaak TD reception, Lounsbury and Terwilliger would connect again for a 30 yard score and the Governor defense would hold the Scoopers to just the two touchdowns against to get the Governors off the four game losing streak and improve to 3-4 on the year. The Scoopers fall to 2-5.
Terwilliger had three grabs for 74 yards as Lounsbury would 13-24 for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Carter Merril would run for 85 yards on 24 carries. Lincoln Schoenhard would strip and recover a fumble on defense.
