Sully Buttes Gets Back on Track, Rolls over Faith

Despite fumbling on their first offensive play of the game, the Sully Buttes Chargers did everything else right and finished off the Faith Longhorns 54-0, spoiling the Longhorns Homecoming night.

The game was called at the half for the mercy rule. The Chargers pounded out 111 yards on the ground, and passed for an additional 183 yards to finish the night at halftime with 294 total yards. This game was played on an 80 yard field-the first time Sully Buttes had played on that size of a field in almost ten years.

Wesley Wittler was 7-12 for the night, and racked up six scoring passes with four TD’s going to Atticus Miles while Miles also caught a TD pass from backup Easton Moore. Gavin Colson caught two touchdown passes to contribute to the victory. Kaydn Westergren was the workhorse on the ground once again finishing with 96 yards on 10 carries.

The Charger defense was equal to the task and shut down Faith holding them to 43 total yards for the night.

The 5-1 Chargers will be at home Friday to take on the 3-4 Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines, while 0-6 Faith hosts 6-1 Harding County/Bison Ranchers.
