Sully Schlimgen would score four times, three in the first half as the O’Gorman Knights would knock off the Pierre Governors 42-14 Friday night at Hollister Field in Pierre.
Schlimgen would bust out a 55 yard touchdown run on the first drive of the game, before grabbing a 13 yard throw from Talan Black and 80 yard touchdown pass on the first play after a missed field goal and OG had a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Pierre would score in the final seconds of the first half as Kaleb Lounsbury would hit George Stalley for an eight yard touchdown throw and catch to make it 21-7 at the half. But three touchdowns including an 80 yard run from Schlimgen would be all the Knights needed to get the second win of the season and send Pierre to its fourth straight loss.
Carter Merril would break the century mark on the ground going for 117 yards while Carter Scheifelbein would catch the most passes and yards at five receptions for 46 yards. Schlimgen finished with 211 yards on the ground and 103 yards receiving for 314 all purpose yards on the night for O’Gorman.
Pierre, now 2-4, will head to Sturgis next Friday. Coverage will start at 6:30 Central Time and kickoff at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
