The Pierre Governor volleyball team would keep the Tea Area Titans winless on Saturday with a four set win going 32-30, 25-16, 18-25 and 25-17.
The Governors and Titans never had more than a five point lead in the first set and started trading points at 23-23 going all the way into the 30s for the first set win. Campbell Cronin finished with a team high 18 kills and had eight in the first set for the Governors. Jaycee Bauer had 12 kills as the two in double figures for the Govs. Anaya Connors would get the match high 19 kills while Remington Bechard had 10 for the Titans as both teams were relatively clean on the attack. Pierre finished with 50 kills overall while Tea Area had 45. The Govs had just 12 hitting errors and the Titans had 17. Tea drops to 0-9 on the year.
Pierre improves to 5-5 on the season and will have two weeks between games. The next Governor contest is on Saturday, October 5 on the road against Brandon Valley. Coverage will start at 2:00 and first serve at 2:30 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
