The Pierre Governor cross country team would travel to Huron Saturday morning and both teams would finish in fifth place while the Governor boys would get a top five finisher.
Caleb Morris would finish 19 seconds off the lead taking fifth place as he would lead the Governors at a time of 16:26. Jayden Brandt would get 27th and Jim Neddo at 32nd. Tryton Parmely would be at 35th for the Governors who finished inside the top 50 on the day. The Govs would score a 140 as a team while Aberdeen Central would win the contest at a total of 49.
On the girls side, Gwen Richter would finish in 13th for Pierre as the top runner with a time of 20:30. Teammate Harper Shaffer was in 16th place just five seconds behind her. Mason Berg would get 23rd, Charlee Williams-Smith at 42nd and Jayne Lees at 47th as the Governors inside the top 50. Pierre would get a total of 120, 60 points behind Tea who would claim the team win.
