The Pierre Governor golf team had another win as a team on Friday in Mitchell as Nick Bothun would also win the individual day after going to two playoff holes.
Bothun would finish three under par, 68 tying Harrisburg’s Charlie Swift. The duo had to play two extra holes on the afternoon to determine a winner as the Governors pick up a fifth individual win on the season. Sawyer Sonnenschein also had a top five finish at an even par 71, while Luke Olson tied for 10th at two over par, 73. Lincoln Houska tied for 12th a shot behind at 74 and Jack Bartlett at a 75 tying for 14th. Tate Stoeser would finish with a 91.
The Governors picked up two birdies on the final hole to gain two shots and ultimately the one shot win over Brandon Valley as Pierre would finish two over par, 286 to nab the title. Mitchell, in third place, was 11 shots back of the Governors.
The Governors are down to the final couple weeks of the season. Pierre will travel to Watertown on Tuesday, the site of the state tournament as the Arrows will host an invite.
