Lyman Edges Sully Buttes

Lyman Edges Sully Buttes

In a game that featured two struggling teams, the Lyman Raiders committed fewer hitting errors, and try as they may, the Sully Buttes Chargers got close, but fell in three sets 26-24, 25-17 and 25-23 Thursday night in Onida.

Unforced errors were at the root of the troubles for Sully Buttes, with the Chargers making strides in the contest, but couldn’t sustain an offensive attack.

The Raiders had their own troubles with unforced errors on the night, but net play by sisters Mak and Jordyn Scott gave Sully Buttes troubles throughout the night. Both sisters played strong in service volleys, and blocking at the net to help push the Raiders to a 4-7 mark on the season.

Meanwhile, Sully Buttes had strong play from libero Cateri Yellowhawk, Payge Bakker and Madison Bradberry, but fell to 1-10 on the year.  Next up for Sully Buttes is a Tuesday contest on the road in Bowdle against 6-8 North Central while the Raiders take on the 9-1 Bennett County Lady Warriors in Martin Saturday
