The Pierre Governor Cheer and Dance team had its best showing of the early season on Saturday in front of the home fans as the Cheer team would place sixth and the dance team second.
The Governor cheer team would score a 199.5 to place sixth on Saturday which was within 16 points of fifth place Tea Area and 30 points of the top winner Watertown. The Arrows would have a 229.5 to edge out Rapid City Central who finished a half point behind them for second place. Mitchell would be in third at 225.5 and Stevens in fourth at 221.
The Governor dance team was just three and a half points behind Aberdeen Central for the team win on Saturday. Pierre would total 250.25 while Aberdeen Central would finish with a 253.75. The Governors were third in the hip hop division with a 240.5 and second in the pom division, just one point out of first at 260. Rapid City Central was third overall with a 246.25 and Stevens in fourth at 230.25.
