Governors Finish First Cheer and Dance Competition of Season

The Pierre Governor cheer and dance team was in Aberdeen on Saturday for the first competition of the season and finished in 10th in cheer and sixth in dance.

The Governors were one of 13 teams in total to participate on Saturday, getting a good judge of where everybody sits to start the season. As the cheer team placed 10th with a total 194.50, they were within five points of jumping two spots to eighth. Harrisburg would take the team title on Saturday scoring a 285.5, 6.5 points better than Jefferson who placed second.

On the dance side, the Governors would place sixth with a total of 233 and were within ten points of jumping to fourth place. Aberdeen Central placed first in its home meet at 252.5, tying with Harrisburg, but still winning the day. Pierre is already within 20 points of the top team at the event.
