The Pierre Governor volleyball team would be swept by the Stevens Raiders on Friday night with scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-21.
Two Stevens Raiders had double digit kills as Avery Kraus had 12 to lead all hitters and Sydney Wathen finished with 11. Overall Stevens had 35 kills in the three set win while the Governors could only get 14 which included five from Campbell Cronin to lead the Governors. Stevens had 21 hitting errors and nine service errors in the three sets, but Pierre was unable to take advantage of the miscues. Savannah Fullerton had two aces for Pierre who led in each set, but have not won a set in its first two matches.
Pierre will look for its first win of the season today when they host the Central Cobblers who lost in three sets on Friday to Aberdeen Central. First serve is at 12:30 from the Riggs High School gym.
