Sonnenschein Wins Again, Governors Second in Huron

For the second time this week, Sawyer Sonnenschein has another individual win, this time in Huron as the Governors would take second place as a team by just a shot.

Sonnenschein would shoot a four under par, 68 to win the event by a stroke over Harrisburg’s Charlie Swift. Sonnenschein had just one bogey and five birdies as he has had 13 birdies over the last two rounds to just one bogey. Luke Olson and Lincoln Houska would tie for 12th both shooting a three over par, 75 while Nick Bothun would finish tied for 20th at five over par, 77. Jack Barlett would go six over par, 79 and Tate Stoeser an 11 over par, 83 for the six golfers.

As a team, Pierre would shoot a seven over par, just one shot back of Watertown who claimed the team title for the day. Harrisburg came in third at eight over par, and O’Gorman was fourth at 11 over par.

The Governors will get the three day weekend, but will be back on the course on Tuesday in Aberdeen for the next invite.
