The Pierre Governor volleyball team will get back on the court tonight against Rapid City Stevens and then on Saturday against Rapid City Central with both at home.
The Governors are 0-1 and look to get on the right track this weekend with a couple of games against Rapid City schools. Stevens will be in town tonight after playing Aberdeen Central Thursday night. Stevens, last season would finish at 16-23 falling to Harrisburg in the SoDak 16. Seven seniors graduated from last year’s team which the Governors won in four sets over the Raiders to open the season.
Rapid City Central will begin the season tonight in Aberdeen, before traveling to Pierre on Saturday. The Cobblers would finish 6-26 last year failing to make the SoDak 16. The Govs would sweep the Cobblers in Rapid City last season and also lost seven seniors to graduation after last season.
Pierre will face Stevens tonight with coverage starting at 6:30 and first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports. Then on Saturday, the Govs and Cobblers will meet with a 12:30 first serve, all the Riggs High School gym.
