The Pierre Governor cross country team is getting the season underway on Friday at its annual race at Steamboat park as nine teams will compete at the high school level with another 10 teams at the middle school race.
The Governors will host Aberdeen Central as the other AA opponent with the likes of Stanley County, Dupree, Faulkton Area, Ipswich, Northwestern, Tiospaye Topa and Warner in town from the smaller classes. It is the annual race to begin the season looking like a great day to run at Steamboat Park in Pierre. It is just a bit shorter than normal with it being a 4K event for both varsity and JV while being a 3K in the middle school races.
The races begin at 10:00 AM at the Steamboat Park in Pierre on Friday.
