The Pierre Governor tennis team traveled out to Madison over the weekend for a singles and doubles tournament and finished right around .500 as a team in total.
The Governor would go 10-10 in total of the singles matches and 5-4 in doubles matches as Bailey Jessen in singles flight one would finish at 1-2 while Breanna Tedrow would 2-2 in flight two. Elise Bowers would go 1-2 in flight three while Amara Dell would also go 1-2 in flight four. Eliza Mayer had the best day for the Governors going 3-1 in flight five and Adrian Hand would finish 2-1 in flight six.
In doubles, Jessen and Ella Fisk in flight one would finish 2-1 on the day, while Tedrow and Dell in flight two would go 1-2 and then the team of Bowers and Mayer would finish with a 2-1 record. Overall Mayer would finish 5-2 at the tournament for the best record of any Governor.
Pierre will travel to Rapid City for an extended weekend as they will play in Rapid Thursday through Saturday this coming weekend.
