Governors Fourth Place after Day One in Opening Season Tournament

The Pierre Governors as a team are just 10 shots back of first place, sitting in fourth place after the first day of the Warrior-Lynx Invite which continues Tuesday.

Both Nick Bothun and Luke Olson are tied for 12th place as the highest Governor finishers in the first day as both would shoot four over par, 75, seven shots off the lead. Lincoln Houska is tied for 18th at five over par, 76 and Sawyer Sonnenschein is six over par, 77. Jack Barlett would shoot an 80 and Tate Stoeser’s first varsity contest is at an 85 for the first day. Charlie Swift of Harrisburg is the clubhouse leader heading into the second day with a three under par, 68. He had five birdies overall at the Brandon Golf Course.

As a team, Pierre ended Monday at 19 over par, 303 to be in fourth place ahead of O’Gorman by four shots. Watertown is nine over par as a team holding a one shot lead over Brandon Valley and five shot lead over third place Harrisburg.

Day two of the tournament begins at 8:30 AM at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls. The GGID is B24WLI.
