The Pierre Governor tennis team would get the season rolling on Friday and Saturday hosting Rapid City Christian, Yankton, Spearfish and Huron.
On Friday, the Govs would go 0-2 as Pierre fell 5-4 to Rapid City Christian to start the weekend. Eliza Mayer in flight five and Adrian Hand in flight six would get wins in the singles matches while Breanna Tedrow and Amara Dell in doubles two and Mayer and Elise Bowers in doubles three would get wins. Mayer and Hand would get the two wins in singles contest in the 7-2 loss to Yankton.
On Saturday, Hand would finish the weekend undefeated winning against Spearfish and Huron. The Governors would get the win over Spearfish handily with a 9-0 sweep. Bowers and Mayer would win in doubles flight three against Huron to finish in a 7-2 loss to the Tigers.
Pierre will be back in action this weekend at Madison as the Bulldogs will host a two day tournament with a singles tournament on Friday and doubles tournament on Saturday.
