Governor Tennis Team Set for 2024 Season

The Pierre Governor tennis team will be right in the middle in terms of bringing back experience and having fresh faces have its first varsity looks as the tennis season is just about to get underway.

Last year, the Governors had Bailey Jessen and Ella Fisk both compete and are the two seniors on this year’s team. Adrian Hand, who is now a freshman is the highest singles competitor returning. Hand went 0-2 at the Class A state tournament in flight three. Jessen, in flight four would finish in fifth place last season while junior Breanna Tedrow would place third in flight five. Elise Bowers also returns as a freshman this year having teamed with Jessen in doubles flight one. Megan Bauck, head coach of the Governors says she’s very optimistic about the season…

The Governors were hit with the injury bug more than just usual bumps and bruises and Bauck says it’s a big benefit to get everybody back…

The Governors open the season this weekend with home duals on both Friday and Saturday at Griffin Park in Pierre.
