Four Corners Wins Wild First Round Game at Amateur State Tournament

The Four Corners baseball team would fight through a wild 18 run third inning to secure a 13-10 win over Crofton, Nebraska in the first round of the amateur baseball state tournament on Sunday in Mitchell.

Four Corners would take an 8-0 lead in the top of the third, but Crofton would strike for 10 runs in the very next half inning, but it would be the only inning in which the Bluejays scored. Justin Lester would get an RBI single in the top of the fourth and then Garrett Stout would triple home the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the fifth in the eventual game winning hit. Four-C would add another two runs in the top of the ninth for insurance as Brad Hand delivered four RBIs while Stout had his two RBIs and River Iverson, Jack Van Camp and Hand each had three hits apiece.

Four Corners will face Garretson in the second round of the playoffs on Wednesday. First pitch from Cadwell Park in Mitchell is at 7:30.
