PIERRE, (KCCR) — The 250th birthday of the United States is just under two years away on July 4th of 2026, but planning to celebrate the nation’s milestone is well underway. The Commission is also looking for entities to partner with the Commission. Doug Knust of Chamberlain says could be a challenge getting groups to sign on with the main event over a year and a half away…
Jones says they’ve talked about America 250 with the public and the public isn’t ready to engage yet…
The Commission also discussed thinking about what from South Dakota should go in a proposed time capsule that is projected to be reopened for America’s 500th birthday in 2276.
