Class B State Amateur Baseball Tournament Begins Wednesday

The 92nd edition of the South Dakota state amateur baseball tournament begins on Wednesday in Mitchell as 32 teams battle it out for the Class B state title.

The tournament begins with Akron, Iowa taking on the Wessington Springs Owls at 5:30 and then the Burke Bombers will face Larchwood, Iowa as the two games to begin the tournament. Then there will be four games everyday through Sunday which includes the first two games of the second round. On Saturday, Chamberlain will take on Winner/Colome in the 7:30 game which is the final game of the night. Then on Sunday, Four Corners will take on Crofton, Nebraska at 11:00 AM to start the day as one of the final two first round games.

The second round will run through Wednesday with the quarterfinals on Thursday and Friday next week. The semifinals will be played on Saturday and the championship on Sunday, August 18 at 2:00. All games will be played at Cadwell Park in Mitchell.

The Class A state tournament will begin on Friday and go through the weekend with the state championship game to be played at 12:00 on Sunday, August 18. The first round will all be played in Brookings August 9-11 and the final six games will be played in Mitchell.
