Canaries Fall as Division Gets Tied up

The Winnipeg Goldeyes would get a 3-1 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries in 11 innings on Sunday to take the series as Sioux Falls is now tied for first in the West Division of the American Association.

Winnipeg would get the first run of the game in the top of the second before Sioux Falls would tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth as Hunter Clanin would double to tie the game. Pierre’s Spencer Sarringar did not start the game, getting the Sunday late afternoon game off, but did come in to catch in the top of the 10th. He would go 0-1 with a fly out as he is hitting .265 still on the summer. Miles Simington would hit a two run homer in the top of the 11th to give Winnipeg the lead and hold on in the bottom of the 11th.

Sioux Falls is now 38-29 on the year and is tied for first with Fargo-Moorhead as Winnipeg is also just a half game back of first. Sioux Falls opens up a series with Fargo-Moorhead on Tuesday on the road.
