Eights Shutout as Watertown Sweeps Advancing to State Tournament

The Pierre Post 8 Senior Legion season would come to an end on Friday afternoon as Watertown Post 17 would shutout Pierre 3-0 sweeping the best-of-three series.

The Eights had just two hits in the loss as seniors Nolan Petersen and Miles Doyle each would have a hit, but it would Talan Jurgens who be dominant on the mound throwing 84 pitches in the seven inning shutout. He allowed just the two hits with a walk and struck out four. Cooper Terwilliger allowed just three runs in six innings of work, but had just one earned run, giving up six hits and three walks while striking out three. JJ Bucholz would get the final three outs in the top of the seventh allowing just one hit.

Pierre finishes the season at 10-30, falling in two close games in the Regional. Doyle is the only player ineligible to return next year as he, Petersen, Brayden Houlette, Gunner Edson and Grayson Hunsley all graduated High School.
