As the end of the summer continues to close in, the softball seasons are coming to a close with state tournaments. One local team last weekend would pick up a state championship.
The Pierre Pressure 14U team was crowned state champions of the USA Softball of South Dakota Fastpitch Rec Division tournament this past weekend in Sioux Falls. The team coached by Sam Koenecke, Paul Karber and Ashlie Richter went 5-0 beating Lennox, Hartford Hitters, Sturgis Slam, and the Watertown Premier twice to take home the championship trophy. The team was crowned the best out of a 12-team bracket.
