Four Pierre Governor girls wrestlers, Sydney Uhrig, Dani Ringstmeyer, Abbi Lewis and Kezrey Benning would all compete at the 16U and Junior National Tournaments this weekend in Fargo, North Dakota.
Lewis would win her first two matches of the tournament advancing to the round of 16 as she would get 11-8 and 8-2 wins competing in the 155. She would drop her Round of 16 match, but still win her first and second consolation matches before falling and finishing at 4-2 overall at the national tournament having the best finish of any of the four Governors.
Ringstmeyer, in the 115 at the Junior National Tournament would get to the Round of 16 winning both of her first matches 10-0 and 11-0, but then would fall in the next two matches finishing 2-2 at the tournament.
Uhrig, at the 110 weight class in the Junior National Championships would go 2-2. She would take the first match with a 7-4 victory and then win her first consolation match before falling and being eliminated
Benning would finish the tournament at 1-2. She would win her second match at the 142 weight class with a 12-2 win over a girl from Pennsylvania.
