Four Pierre Governor girls wrestlers will be in Fargo this weekend to compete at the Junior and 16U National Championships which will begin on Saturday.
Both Sydney Uhrig and Dani Ringstmeyer will compete in the Junior National Tournament while Abbi Lewis and Kezrey Benning will be in the 16U Championships. For Uhrig, she will wrestle this next year at Grand View University. She will wrestle in the 110, but during her last season with the Govs, she placed fifth in the 107 and finished 34-7 overall in her senior campaign. Ringstmeyer was a state runner up in her junior year in the 114 this season as she will wrestle in the 120 weight class. Ringstmeyer finished at 42-8 over the year.
Benning and Lewis will be in the 16U National championships. Benning was fourth in the 132 this past winter for the Governors and will compete in the 142 this weekend. Benning’s record was 42-10 overall as a sophomore. Lewis will compete in either the 148 or 155 this weekend. Lewis was the state champion in the 152 as a freshman and was undefeated going 45-0 to claim the title.
