The Casper Spuds answered a four run top of the first and had big middle innings to defeat the Oahe Zap 16-8 on Tuesday in Casper, Wyoming.
The Zap would score four runs in the top of the first to try and set the tone Tuesday night, but it would be short lived. Casper would score four runs in the bottom of the first. Oahe would grab the lead in the second 5-4, but the Zap couldn’t score again until the top of the eighth when the game was all but out of reach. With a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the sixth, the Spuds would get five unearned runs to score and eventually make it 14-5 at the end of the seventh. Aiden Johnson had three RBIs for the Zap who had 10 hits as Tyler Hoffman and Buck Snabes each had two for Oahe.
The Zap fall to 2-5 in the second half of the season and will face the Spuds again tonight to close out the two game series and be at home on Thursday through Saturday against the Bison Baseball team. First pitch tonight is at 7:05.
