Another big night of runs scoring across the Oahe Zap and Spearfish Sasquatch on Thursday, but it would be Spearfish to come away with a 16-10 win.
A six run bottom of the eighth inning would drive in the go-ahead runs as Oahe had led 10-7 in the top of the seventh but was tied 10-10 going into the eighth. The two teams would go run for run in the first seven innings as both teams only had two scoreless innings. Jackson Mix would go 4-6 while Leandro Guevara, Jacob Trusner and Buck Snabes each had two hits. Emiliano Curiel-Montijo drove in three runs and Trusner added another two RBIs for the Zap who couldn’t win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Seth Nelson would drive in three for Spearfish and Nolan Ackerman would untie the game with a two run single in the bottom of the eighth with two outs, opening up the six run inning.
Oahe falls to 4-20 on the season and will finish the series with Spearfish tonight. Then Saturday and Sunday the Zap will play in Casper, Wyoming before returning back home on Monday.
