The Oahe Zap would start Thursday’s game with another homer and lead early on, but fall to the Nebraska Prospects 15-8 to split the two game series at home.
Vince Pollizi would hit his fourth two run homer to pull the Zap within one in the first 3-2. Oahe would score twice in each of the next two innings as Tyler Hoffman, Buck Snabes and Mike Maanum each would pick up an RBI to lead 6-3. Jacob Trusner would pick up an RBI in the bottom of the fourth to make it 7-5 for the Zap, but two runs in the fifth and a five run sixth including a grand slam from Drew Borner would give the Prospects a 12-7 lead. Borner and Korey Cozad each had four RBIs for the Prospects. Ben Irsfeld would be tagged with the loss going five and 2/3 innings giving up 11 runs, seven earned on 10 hits, four walks and eight strike outs. Both teams had 16 hits in the ballgame.
Oahe will start a three game series against the Hastings Sodbusters tonight and run through Sunday. First pitch for Friday and Saturday’s games are at 6:05 with Sunday’s at 1:11, all at Hyde Stadium.
