PIERRE, (KCCR) — A very light agenda will come before the Pierre City Commission tonight. Commissioners will consider approval of a nine-item consent calendar. The calendar includes minutes and claims and new hires in the Business Office, Parks, Electric, Water and Recreation Departments. A wage adjustment and setting of a public hearing are also on the calendar tonight. In unfinished business, Commissioners will give second reading to updates to some city ordinance chapters and articles and in new business, the Commission will consider a street closure request. The Militiamen V-M-C Riverbottom Chapter is looking to close Dakota Avenue to Poplar Avenue and Sioux Avenue to the Missouri River Bridge on July7th for a poker run. Commissioners will also present any dialogue they may have to round out the meeting. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm in the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
