Pierre Post 8 would see one of the best teams in the state on Tuesday as the Renner Royals would come to Pierre and shutout the Eights 10-0 and 14-0.
Renner would get a six inning shutout from Braylon Bear who gave up just two hits, one walk and had eight strikeouts. George Stalley and Trevor Rounds each had a hit. Sully Schlimgen would score the first three runs of the game making it 1-0 in the first on an RBI single, before hitting a two RBI double in the third in part of its four run third. Seven of the nine men in the order drove in a run with Renner having five doubles including three in a row to start the sixth inning. Cooper Terwilliger would go four innings giving up seven hits, five runs, four earned on two walks and five strikeouts.
In game two, Sutton Sonnenschein had the only two hits, two singles in the first and fourth innings. Kyle Konechne would open the scoring with a two run homer, two batters into the game as the Royals had another three extra base hits for a total of eight in the doubleheader. Konechne had three RBIs in the win as the Royals improve to 8-1 in the season and 4-0 in South Dakota games.
