The Pierre Governor softball team would be swept at home over the weekend by Jefferson in Lincoln as both games would end early with 10-run rule wins.
The Jefferson Cavaliers would win the first game of the weekend with a 16-1 win over the Governors. Jefferson would lead 9-0 heading into the sixth before a seven run inning but the game away. Nevaeh Karber would get the lone RBI of the day and weekend with an RBI ground out. Pierre allowed eight unearned runs on seven errors on Friday.
Then on Saturday, the Govs were shutout by the Lincoln Patriots in a 17-0 loss. Lincoln scored seven runs in the fifth to take the 17-0 lead. Pierre had two hits as Ely Broers would double and Karber would have the other hit. It was another nine unearned runs against the Govs having another seven errors in the loss.
Pierre drops to 2-13 and the losing streak has hit 12. Pierre will host Spearfish Monday with a 4:00 first pitch at the Riggs Softball Field.
