The Pierre Governor track and field team is set for the opening date of the season, but it will be the indoor meet in Brookings for the Ruth Marske Invite at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
Eight AA schools will meet in Brookings as the Governors will also compete with Aberdeen Central, Brandon Valley, host Brookings, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Watertown. Overall there are scheduled to be three states competing with 24 schools in total with the eight AA, four A schools and Aberdeen Christian in Class B from South Dakota.
The events begin at 12:00 in Brookings. Pierre will have its first home meet on Tuesday, April 2, the week following Easter.
